When Eva Masaki hears “Prosecco,” it conjures up a magical place in Northern Italy—her eponymous eyewear line is handmade in the Valdobbiadene region in the Veneto, an area revered for its production of some of the finest and handcrafted Prosecco. For Eva, it’s a happy and bubbly place, where the colors and vibration of the land are infused into the DNA of her brand, from the earthy tones to the spectrum of greens and brilliant yellows of the leaves and the ripening Glera grapes, and the ethereal light in the mornings. Everywhere you look, there are grapevines—such an unlikely and extremely charming place for an eyewear factory.

But beyond its pastoral beauty, a deeper connection she has with this singular place is all about craft—families have been growing grapes and making wine there for generations. They are intrinsically connected to the land and the seasons: caretakers of a deep history of winemaking, one that extends back for centuries. In this world of fast fashion and consumerist influencer culture, it’s important to Eva to share the story of where her eyewear comes from and is made by hand—a storied place with provenance and deep roots.
