CHIYO Hinoki

CHIYO Hinoki
A modern aviator frame rendered fully in Italian acetate named after Eva Masaki’s mother Chiyo, who came of age as a Japanese woman living in America in the 1960s and 70s. A celebration of the name Chiyo (ch-ee-yo), meaning “one thousand generations” in Japanese, the frames are an enduring style with an updated approach. Sensibly oversized and narrow through the temples, the hexagonal frame is designed to fit a wide range of face shapes. Handmade in Northern Italy from cellulose acetate by Mazzucchelli.
Rendered in a transparent crystal turtle acetate with a gradient olive-brown lens, Hinoki takes its cue from the heady, aromatic scent of Japanese baths and temples. A study in purity, longevity, and stillness. Earthy and luminous, it recalls slower rhythms: warm water, quiet mornings, and the grounding presence of wood. Category 2 lens suited to moderate sun and everyday wear.
