CHIYO Batman

CHIYO Batman
A modern aviator frame rendered fully in Italian acetate named after Eva Masaki’s mother Chiyo, who came of age as a Japanese woman living in America in the 1960s and 70s. A celebration of the name Chiyo (ch-ee-yo), meaning “one thousand generations” in Japanese, the frames are an enduring style with an updated approach. Sensibly oversized and narrow through the temples, the hexagonal frame is designed to fit a wide range of face shapes. Handmade in Northern Italy from cellulose acetate by Mazzucchelli.
A charcoal tortoise acetate paired with a warm brown lens. A palette that recalls the cinematic quality of early twenty-first century Gotham—shadowed, composed, and elusive. Nearly black at first glance, the tortoise reveals a subtle warmth beneath the surface. Classic in structure but with a darker undertone, it carries confidence without excess—a transformative quality that takes hold when worn. The category 2 warm brown lens is suited to moderate sun and everyday wear.
